David Holt

I am a painter and a printmaker. I try to get to the essence of my subjects, either urban or rural scenes. Without providing literal views, I have focused on the spirit of things. I work predominately in Lino-cut and Casein. Although I work in two very different mediums, my intentions are similar. I try to create a deceptive image that is charged emotionally. My work in casein in particular, echoes the work of German Expressionists as well as such modern masters as John Marin and  Marsden Hartley.
