Alex Canelos

I'm interested in old craft traditions, and in renewing these crafts to speak to the present day. When I look at the art of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, I am inspired by the way that the workshops and patrons collaborated with skills that included a knowledge of materials, a grasp of perspective, a love of storytelling, and a delight in the purely abstract rhythms that underlie their art.
