This artist project is a collaboration of community; a community of peace organized through the New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce for our local citizens. It is a contemplative study of what brings us together as humans with a focus on peace and unity. This will be an exciting and timely collaboration between the town and village, local non profits for the arts and local businesses.

The project may include up to 100 artists, all creating art on either a peace sign, peace pole or sculpture in their own individual styles. These works of art will be unified, positive and uplifting, focusing on messages that will knit our community together and celebrate connection.

The completed project is expected to be installed and ready for exhibit by mid-to-late September, and will run for approximately eight weeks. All proceeds will go towards a community art scholarship; focused on activism through art. The Regional Chamber of Commerce at New Paltz Foundation will seek to award up to two scholarships through this initiative annually.
