All of the images in EXPLORATIONS originated as “straight” nature photography, often of mundane subjects such as a leaf of kale or striations in sandstone. Through my lens I explore color and shape. Then, I impose my vision of the image by deconstructing the color channels, textures and shapes. Some colors may be enhanced, others eliminated or completely replaced, filters add texture, or not, and finally, the work is printed with ink on canvas. The smaller prints displayed in this exhibition are printed with archival pigment ink on rag paper.
