Lately my work has been inspired by many things, but refrigerators have been my main inspiration over the past year or so. It sounds very mundane and boring, but people put everything on their fridges, and you can really learn a lot about someone by what they choose to put on their fridge. I use the fridge and the objects on it to show how people can change and evolve over time, often using it to create self-portraits by using papers, artwork, magnets, and notes that express who I am. These works are also very informed by my childhood, and having to reconcile with it as someone who is transgender.
