After focusing her painting primarily on portraits for more than five decades, the Catskill Mountains inspired Olivebridge artist Linda Champanier to also explore painting the beauty and magic of the earth, sky, and water in landscapes. Painting portraits creates a connection as she looks beyond the surface to capture gesture and the essence of the person. Plein air paintings evoke memories of that specific day’s weather, light, and the time spent outdoors.
